Harrington finished the tournament three strokes below runner up, Mike Weir from Canada. After the tournament, he spoke with Roger Neel covering the Dick's Sporting Goods Open for WNBF.

"Yea I really liked the greens," Harrington told Neel. "The greens were awesome. I committed to giving my putts a run all week which I did and I hold my fair share. Played nicely on top of that, the golf course suited me. I knew I had to avoid some of the water holes, the pair of trees, gotta play well and it turned out I played them really well bar one errant shot that was more to do with a distracted route and a bad swing. So out of that I hit it pretty close to the pair of trees and probably broke the back of the course by playing those holes well."

He also told Roger Neel how he battled through the tough weather on Sunday afternoon, saying "You know I'd love to play in sunshine all the time and perfect weather. But I know when it gets tougher, it's an advantage to me. Every day it gets windy the fact is it suits me more than it suits the other guys so turn it into a positive in that sense."

Harrington won $315,000 for taking first place at the Dick's Sporting Goods Open golf tournament.
