Curve Holds off Rumble Ponies Rally
The Altoona Curve ended the four-game winning streak for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies at NYSEG Stadium last (Monday) night with a 5-4 decision. The Curve has won seven of the eight meetings between the two teams this season.
Altoona starter James Marvel went 6.1 innings and gave up a pair of runs to up his record to 2-1. Binghamton's Matt Gage went 5.2 innings and gave up three runs while striking out eight batters. He takes the loss and falls to 2-3 this season.
Tomas Nido went 3-4 for the Rumble Ponies and Joey Terdoslavich ripped a home run and now has driven in at least one run in his past five games. He came close to providing a game-winning hit in the bottom of the ninth inning when with two on and two out he ripped a line drive to centerfield that was chased down to end the game.
