
Crack and Guns Found in Ely Street Raid
A Binghamton man is facing felony drug and weapon charges after the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force raided a home on Ely Street August 8.
52 year-old William Mims was arrested after police say they found crack cocaine, a 9mm Smith & Wesson handgun, a loaded .40 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun, a Remington 870 12-gage shotgun, handgun ammunition and a bulletproof vest at his home. Officers also seized a digital scale used to weigh narcotics.
Mims is charged with three felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon, one misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a weapon, felony criminal possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was sent to the Broome County Jail without bail.
