Construction on Endicott Project May Start Soon
Site work on a planned $8.5 million residential development in Endicott could get underway in the next few months.
The Skye View Heights project is to be built north of East Franklin Street.
Developer Monarco DiFrancesco says the rental community will be marketed to people over 55 years old.
The Broome County Industrial Development Agency last week approved a tax incentive package for the project.
DiFrancesco says construction can begin "as soon as the ground thaws."
The developer says the project calls for 54 units to be built. He says he expects more than 100 people will reside in Skye View Heights.
DiFrancesco says he believes the project is "absolutely what the village of Endicott needs." He says the housing development will help provide some much-needed stability to Endicott.
A two-unit building that will be part of the project already is in place on East Franklin Street. DiFrancesco says he finished work on that structure after construction had been started by another developer.
The Skye View Heights project is being developed by American Horizons Group.
