The Binghamton University Bearcat men’s basketball team started off the weekend with a convincing 65-44 win over New Hampshire, and lost game two in a back to back Sunday afternoon in overtime 71-65

Saturday the Bearcats defense dominated the Wildcats, Forward George Tinsley had a game high 16 points, scoring the first eight points for the Bearcats, and closing the first half on a 19-11 run.

BU came out of halftime with a 27-7 run and sealed the deal, holding an opponent to the lowest score (44pts) in the last seven years.

Game two saw the Bearcats lead most of the game, and had a seven point advantage late in the second half, the Wildcats pulled to within two with less then a minute in regulation, the Bearcats had a chance to win the game, but missed free-throw attempts to put the game into overtime.

UNH outscored the Bearcats in overtime 15-9 for the win.

Guard’s Brenton Mills had 14 points , and Dan Petcash put in 12 points, and forward Bryce Beamer contributed with 11 points.

BU Coach Tommy Dempsey said he was proud of the way his team played this weekend.

Next up the Bearcat Men will host NJIT  at the events center this Saturday and Sunday.

The Women will host Albany this weekend.
