Binghamton University has another nationally recognized athlete as Emily Mackay is now a Two Time All American.

Emily MacKay has been a stand out a Binghamton University gaining national recognition in March placing 14th in the NCAA Cross Country Championships and winning the America East Women’s individual cross-country title and was conference title champion for outdoor track in the 1,500.

This Saturday MacKay earned All American Honors once again taking seventh place overall in the Women’s 5,000 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Emily MacKay placed seventh out of 24 finalists with a record time of 15:42:38 to achieve her second All American Honors

MacKay is only the second female athlete from Binghamton to compete at the NCAA Division I outdoor Track and Field Championships, after Keishorea Armstrong  achieved two time honors in 2015 and 2018 for the long jump.

In the News release from Binghamton University Mackay said "I am beyond thankful for the support that I have received this year," ..."There are a lot of people at Binghamton who made this all possible."

Her (MacKay) seventh place finishes gave two points to Binghamton University’s NCAA Outdoor Track and Filed Championships tying BU for 58th place at the meet.

MacKays coach Annette Acuff said. "She raced so incredibly tough to take seventh place and get first-team All-America honors. She absolutely deserved it."

Binghamton University’s has had three qualifiers over the years in the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships all men, Rory Quiller in 2006 and 2007, Erik Van Ingen in 2011 and 2012 and Jesse Garn in 2015 and 2016.
