Bearcat Women Defeat UMass Lowell
The Binghamton University Bearcat Women scored their fourth victory of the season with a 67-63 road win over the UMass Lowell River Hawks yesterday afternoon.
The Bearcat women split the weekend series with UMass with a 59-49 loss on Saturday.
Denai Bowman continues to shine as the Bearcats top player with a 20-point game (8 for 18) Sunday, playing the complete game (40 minutes), a first in her career.
The team defense spoiled a late game comeback by the River Hawks, and sealed the victory.
The Bearcats are in fifth place in the America East 4-8 overall, and 4-6 in conference.
The Bearcat Women will host the University of Maine this weekend with 2 p.m. tipoffs on Saturday and Sunday

The Binghamton University Bearcat Men’s team lost a back to back series against UMass Lowell over the weekend at the Events Center with a 92-78 loss on Saturday and a 77-67 loss Sunday afternoon.
On Saturday the opposition shot 63 percent and dominated the Bearcats in the second half, Tyler Bertram had a career high 20-point game, and Brenton Mills contributed 15 points along with Bryce Beamer’s 13 points.
On Sunday the Bearcats put together a second half run but couldn’t recover from an 18-point deficit.
The Bearcats got some good news as their senior center Thomas Bruce returned to action with three blocks and six rebounds in his 19 minutes on the court.
Brenton Mills was the high scorer for the Bearcats with 16 points, Dan Petcash and Tyler Bertram each contributed 11 points
The Bearcat men are in last place in the America East 1-12 overall and 1-9 in the conference.
The Bearcat Men are on the road this weekend at the University of Maine with 1 p.m. tipoffs on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
