The Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team led George Mason for over 25 minutes in the game but saw a superb first half give way to a dismal second half as the Patriots outscored the Bearcats 69-57 in Fairfax, Virginia on Thursday night.  The game, part of the Cancun Challenge, was the first ever meeting between the two schools on the hardwood.

Binghamton was outstanding in the first half and led by as much as 12 points.  BU jumped out to a 4-0 lead and the Bearcats went to halftime with a 38-32 advantage.

But the second half belonged to George Mason as the Patriots outscored the Bearcats  37-19 and upped their record to 2-1 while the Bearcats fall to 1-2.  J C Show paced BU with 13 points and Willie Rodriguez finished with 10 points.

Binghamton meets the Evansville Purple Aces in Evansville, Indiana Saturday at 4 PM Eastern Time.  Airtime for the contest is 345 on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
