Close to 2,000 absentee ballots were tabulated November 10 at Broome County Election Headquarters.  With all but several dozen military ballots accounted for Republican Stephen Cornwell has kept an advantage of over 500 votes to win the race for District Attorney over incumbent Gerald Mollen.  Cornwell's total is at 20,630 while Mollen has garnered 20,121 votes.

Cornwell declared his victory at the Republican Headquarters at the Holiday Inn Downtown on election night.  Mollen, a Democrat, was seeking his eighth term as the District Attorney for Broome County.  The election results will be certified on Tuesday, November 17th.
