The Hartford Yard Goats handed the Binghamton Rumble Ponies a 6-3 defeat on Friday night in Hartford in the opening game of a three-game series.  The Rumble Ponies have now dropped six of the last seven contests.

Binghamton starting pitcher Nabil Crismatt took the loss after giving up six runs and 10 hits in five innnings of work. His record falls to 7-4 and has now lost his last two starts.  Overall the Rumble Ponies fall to 34-32 and have dropped six of their last seven games.

Binghamton lost its two most productive power hitters with infielders Peter Alonso and Jeff McNeil promoted to Triple-A Las Vegas.  Replacing them in the Rumble Ponies' lineup are Jsoh Allen and Joey Terdoslavich.  Allen made his Rumble Ponies' debut at second base and Terdoslavich at first base.  Both went 1-4 at the plate.

The two teams meet again tonight in Hartford.  One of the New York Mets' top prospects, Justin Dunn, will start on the mound for Binghamton.  Pete Lambert counters for Hartford.  Airtime for the 6:05 game is 5:50 on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
