A Binghamton woman is looking at serving seven years in New York State Prison for attempting to rob two Chinese food deliverymen.

24 year old Melinda Patak pleaded guilty to two counts of felony attempted first degree robbery for allegedly working with John Pierce to call Chinese take-out restaurants, order food and rob the delivery person back in October.

A knife was displayed in both the incidents, one involving New Panda Chinese Restaurant on Robinson Street and the other from Longfeng Restaurant on Glenwood Avenue.

Pierce’s case is pending.  He’s charged with felony robbery.

Police say they searched Pierce and Patak’s home on Mygatt Street and found the knife believed to be used in the robberies.
