Weather Provides Another Rumble Ponie Knockout
Steady rain has forced another postponement for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. Binghamton's scheduled home game versus the Altoona Curve set for tonight (Monday) has been rained out. The Rumble Ponies have scheduled the makeup game as part of a doubleheader on Tuesday beginning at 5:35 PM (air at 5:20 on News Radio 1290 WNBF).
The Rumble Ponies will then conclude the series with Altoona with a Baseball in Education Day contest on Wednesday beginning at 10:35 A.M. Monday's rain out is the second consecutive home game the Rumble Ponies have lost to rain. Overall the weather has been a nightmare for Binghamton and much of the Eastern League.
The Rumble Ponies have lost 10 dates for games overall home and away this season due to inclement weather and resulting unplayable field conditions. The weather has been so bad Binghamton has had two rescheduled games postponed a second time.
If you count them as rained out on two separate dates Binghamton has actually lost 12 games to bad weather. The Rumble Ponies are 19-12 for 31 total games. If you factor in 10 dates out of 31 games equals 32 percent. If you factor in the postponed doubleheaders that makes it 12 games out of 31 which equals close to 39 percent of any game scheduled postponed !
