The students at Vestal High School continue to excel regardless of the challenges we have faced over the past year.

The Vestal High School Art Students have put their talent and dedication together in the 78th annual regional Scholastic Art awards.

Their hard work paid off as they will received 19 awards including six Gold Keys and five Silver Keys.

According to a news release from the Vestal School District the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards were founded in 1923 by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers.

The awards recognize and offer scholarships to students based on their talents in Art.

The News release highlights Seniors Miah Barnard and Anna Bishop along with junior Delaney Schoenfeldt as Gold Key winners in multiple categories

Meghan Eames and Magdalene Restuccia were awarded Silver Keys in Painting and Sculpture, with honorable mentions going to Alexandra Bowen, Hannah Goldberg, Magdalene Restuccia and Jori Tate.

The regional winners projects will be displayed at Elmira’s Arnot Art Museum between February 2nd and March 6th 2021.

In April 2021 the Gold Key pieces will go to New York City for the National Scholastic Judging

The Vestal School High School would like to recognize and thank, Melissa Restuccia, the Art chair, and Peter Durham, from their direction and dedication to the art projects.
