Union-Endicott School District residents will be able to learn more about a proposed budget at a public meeting April 15.

District officials expect the Board of Education to adopt a spending plan after the budget workshop planned for that night.

The latest draft budget calls for spending about $77.2 million in the coming school year. That plan would increase total school district spending by 1.75 percent.

The budget workshop is to start at 7 p.m. Wednesday. It will be held at the school district office building on East Main Street, just west of Union-Endicott High School.

A public hearing on the finalized budget proposal is to be held on May 12.

Residents of about 700 school districts across New York state will vote on individual spending plans on May 19.
