Binghamton Patriots jumped out to an early 18 point lead before the Vestal Golden Bears began to click offensively.  By half-time the Patriots advantage had been cut to just two points and by the time the scoreboard showed no time remaining the Golden Bears had won in miraculous fashion and the Patriots had fallen from the ranks of the unbeaten.

The wild game showcased two high-powered offenses.  With 1:02 remaining in the fourth quarter Matt Pringle carried in a score from 23 yards out.  With his two-point conversion Binghamton was up 53-50.  That set the stage for a turn of events that enabled Vestal to pull off the "almost impossible".

On fourth down with :31 left Binghamton was called for pass interference at the Patriots' 47 yard-line which gave Vestal more life.  Then with just :04 remaining   Binghamton was called for pass interfence in the end zone defending on Mickey Mullins. That gave the Golden Bears one more shot from the six yard-line with no time remaining on the scoreboard clock.  Quarterback Nick Davis fired a strike to Sam Bulman in the end zone for the winning points.  Vestal won 56-53.  Vestal fans screamed with delight while Binghamton fans were  left to shake their heads in disbelief.

The win puts Vestal's record at 3-1 and sets the stage for this Saturday's road game at Union-Endicott.  Binghamton is now 3-1 and plays host to Johnson City on Friday night.
