Two Endicott boys have been arrested in connection with a series of thefts from parked vehicles in recent weeks.

Village police say the boys are 14- and 15-years-old. They have been charged with robbery and several counts of criminal possession of stolen property.

Detectives have been investigating incidents in which vehicles parked on Endicott streets or in parking lots had windows or windshields broken. Purses, phones and other electronic items were taken from vehicles.

The latest batch of smash-and-grab break-ins has been going on for the past three weeks around the village.

Police say the younger boy was found to be in possession of something that had been reported as stolen from a vehicle. Other items have been recovered by investigators have been having difficulty tracking down owners.

Detectives are encouraging people who have had vehicles damaged or have had things stolen while they were parking in the village to report the incidents. The Endicott Police Department may be contacted at 607.785.3341.
