Broome County Emergency Services officials say fire crews are working at a two-alarm fire in Endicott that has snarled traffic on North Street.

The fire broke out in a second-floor apartment over Harvest Express at 1 Washington Avenue at the corner of North street shortly after 8:30 this morning.

There have been no reports of injuries at the point but dispatchers said traffic was "a real mess" in that area.

As of 8:50 a.m. fire crews were still setting up at fire hydrants.

Motorists should avoid the area of North Street, Garfield and Washington Avenue, roughly between Garfield and Madison on North Street for most of the morning.
