Officials gathered February 25 at the Greater Binghamton Airport to announce the trip to take about 160 veterans, guardians and staff to Washington DC April 18 to see veterans’ memorials at no cost to the service members.

For many veterans, it is the first chance they’ve had to see the monuments. Top priority is given to World War two, Korean and Vietnam-era vets as well as terminally ill veterans from all wars.

Volunteer guardians fly with veterans to assist them in having a safe, memorable experience.

Twin Tiers Honor Flight is a non-profit organization supported through donations and grants like Broome County’s Small Communities fund.
