Businesses and homes are encouraged to display green lamps to support our veterans. Security Mutual Life Insurance is lighting the façade of its building green throughout the week.
To help further this initiative, Broome County is distributing free green light bulbs to residents at various locations throughout the county during regular business hours at the:
• Broome County Public Library
• Broome County Office Building Security Desk
• Broome West Senior Center
• Deposit Senior Center
• Eastern Broome Senior Center
• Northern Broome Senior Center
• Visions Veterans Memorial Arena
Wednesday, November 6th, lunches will be provided free for veterans at all Broome County Senior Centers from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and on Thursday, November 14th at 4 p.m. at the Deposit Senior Center.
Show your support for the men and women who served in the Armed Forces, by displaying a green light at your business or home.
Operation Green Light is a collaboration between the New York State Association of Counties, the New York State County Executives Association, and the NYS County Veteran Service Officers' Association.
