Veterans Day is Monday, November 11th. The Binghamton Hometown Heroes Committee has announced a ceremony honoring 30 new heroes to be held on Thursday, November 7th.

The ceremony will be held at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena from 1 to 3 p.m. on the 2nd-floor concourse as 30 new Binghamton Hometown Heroes banners will be unveiled.

The public is welcome to attend and show support for these hometown heroes. ceremony is open to the public to create an opportunity for the community to show their support. The new banners will be installed on Front Street between Bevier and Prospect Streets in Binghamton.

According to the Southern Tier Veterans Support Group and Binghamton Vet Center, the Greater Binghamton Hometown Heroes banner campaign honors local servicemen and servicewomen.

It provides a living tribute created for the community to recognize and honor Greater Binghamton residents and their family members who are serving or are veterans who have served our country in the United States Armed Forces.

Each of the banners honors a specific service person and includes their name, branch of service, and photo if provided of each service person.

In 2023, 10 new banners were put on display on the Bevier Street Bridge in Binghamton. The 30 new banners to be installed this year include:
