Troopers Find Grow-Op When Checking Woman’s Welfare
A Chenango County man is facing a number of charges after New York State Police say they removed a large amount of marijuana from his home on Hogsback Road in the Town of Greene following a surprise discovery.
Authorities responded to a request to check on the welfare of a woman at 5:55 p.m. March 30th and found several marijuana plants growing in the home when they were let inside.
51 year old Christopher Phillips is charged with felony criminal possession of marijuana, Public Health Law misdemeanor unlawfully growing cannabis and misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance.
In addition to the growing plants, Troopers say they found numerous large storage totes of dried marijuana, seeds, lists of seeds used to grow cannabis and a canister containing Suboxone.
Investigators looking around the property also found a grow room inside a shed with two pot plants.
Phillips was issued tickets and ordered to appear in Town of Greene Court.
