The Village of Endicott Police Bomb Squad will share in a $2-million federal grant for equipment and training among New York agencies.

Most of the 100-thousand-dollars for the Endicott Bomb Squad is earmarked for training on how to locate and prevent emergencies caused by IEDs…improvised explosive devices.

The money from the federal Homeland Security grant program will also help improve coordination among tactical…explosive detection and canine teams as well as regional partners.

The twelve bomb squads across the New York have received more than  21-million dollars over the last 13 years from the federal government.
