Stalled Front Could Soak Twin Tiers and Cause Minor Flooding
Officials are keeping an eye on streams in areas that are prone to flooding as more rain is soaking already saturated ground for a few days.
The National Weather Service in Binghamton says an extended period of rain is expected as a front stalls out over the Twin Tiers.
The rain October 31 will continue through Friday night with periods of steady rain and embedded heavier downpours on Friday, November 2. A few thunderstorms are also possible.
Given that the ground that is already saturated, additional rain may cause flooding issues. The National Weather Service reminds residents to monitor the forecast closely in the coming days.
