The Stack family is donating $180,000 to the City to renovate the softball diamond and Little League field on the Eastside of Binghamton where Stack, Myers and her husband, Tim Myers grew up.

The total costs of upgrades to the park are put at around $200,000.

Officials say it’s hoped to have all the work done in time for the spring softball and baseball seasons.

Dick’s Sporting Goods started as a small fishing supply store in Binghamton in 1948, founded by Ed Stack and Kim Myers’ father, Dick Stack and has since expanded to hundreds of stores nationwide with a net worth put last week at three-point-five-four billion dollars.

While Dick’s moved its corporate headquarters to Pennsylvania, it maintains a large presence in its hometown area with stores and a new, major distribution facility in Conklin.
