Section 4 Football Playoffs Begin

While some high schools in Section 4 are finishing out their regular season football schedules Class B  and D schools are starting their post-season this weekend.  All eight Class B schools are participating in quarterfinal games.

Undefeated Chenango Forks puts a 7-0 record on the line as the Blue Devils host Chenango Valley at 7 PM Friday night. Also set for Friday night is Windsor at Norwich and Waverly at Maine-Endwell.  Owego travels to Susquehanna Valley on Saturday afternoon.

News Radio 1290 WNBF will be at Spartan Stadium for Friday night's 7 PM (6:50 air) contest between the host Spartans and Waverly Wolverines.  In the regular season the Spartans defeated the Wolverines on the road 41-28.  That was the first of four consecutive wins for the Spartans.  Coming into Friday's game the Spartans are 5-2.

M-E is averaging 26 points per game while giving up 17 points per contest.  Waverly defeated Chenango Valley 21-6 last weekend.  The Wolverines are scoring 14 points per game and giving up 29 per game.
