WNBF's High School "Game of the Week" coverage originates from Spartan Stadium in Endwell as Maine-Endwell hosts the Waverly Wolverines at 7:00 PM on Friday evening.  Air on News Radio 1290 WNBF is scheduled for 6:50 PM.

The last time these two teams met was in 2017 in a Class B semi-final.  The Spartans prevailed and came away with a 38-12 victory.  This time around the Wolverines come in at 2-0 while the Spartans are 1-1.

Last weekend Waverly rolled to a 41-6 win at Johnson City.  The Spartans traveled to Chenango Valley and defeated the Warriors 42-24.  In the season openers Waverly edged Union-Endicott 23-22 while M-E fell to Section 3 Carthage 52-28 at the Carrier Dome.

Plenty of other games dot the weekend schedule. Chenango Forks travels to Norwich with The Forks riding high...undefeated and rated second in the state in Class B play.  The Chenango Valley Warriors head to Ithaca with both teams checking in at 1-1.

The Binghamton Patriots are home at Alumni Stadium to host the Corning Hawks.  The Hawks have scored 106 points in their first two games. Binghamton was shutout in the first half last Friday by Vestal but scored 21 second-half points to defeat the Golden Bears 21-0. Sidney is ranked seventh in the state in Class C and the Warriors at 2-0 travel to Greene to face the Trojans.

In other Section 4 contests on Friday:

Johnson City travels to Oneonta, Vestal at Owego, Whitesboro at Union-Endicott and on Saturday Susquehanna Valley travels to Newark Valley at 1:30 and Dryden plays at Whitney Point at 7:00 PM.
