Rumble Ponies Visit Reading Tonight

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies open a four-game series in Reading tonight (Monday) against the Fightin Phils.  The game is scheduled for a 7:10 PM start with air at 6:55 on News Radio 1290 WNBF. The Rumble Ponies took three out of four meetings this past weekend in Akron against the RubberDucks.  That puts Binghamton's second half record at 15-17 and 50-46 overall good for a second place tie in the Eastern Division.

Tonight's opponents...the Figthin Phils are the top team in the East at 20-11 this half and 59-39 overall.  Binghamton's scheduled starting pitcher is Tommy Wilson who is 2-4 with a 6.48 ERA.  Reading's starter is JoJo Romero who is 4-3 and carries a 5.23 ERA.

League honors were announced today for Jason Krizan who was named the Eastern League Player of the Week for July 15-21.  Krizan saw action in six games last week and went 12-26 (.462 average)with five doubles, a pair of home runs, six RBI's and four runs scored.  He joins pitcher Harol Gonzalez and and infielder/catcher Patrick Mazeika as Rumble Ponies who have earned similar honors.
