Rumble Ponies Split With Fisher Cats
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies and New Hampshire Fisher Cats split a doubleheader at NYSEG Stadium on Saturday night. The Rumble Ponies won the first game 6-5 while the Fisher Cats topped Binghamton 3-0 in the nightcap.
The Rumble Ponies won game one in dramatic fashion. Binghamton drew two walks and a single in the bottom of the seventh inning to set the stage for Jeff McNeil who ripped a single off reliever Kirby Snead to plate a pair of runs and give the Rumble Ponies a come-from-behind 6-5 victory.
In the nightcap New Hampshire hurler T.J. Zeuch went all seven innings to shutout out Binghamton 3-0. Marcos Molina started and took the loss for the Rumble Ponies. Zeuch gave up three hits and struck out four. He ups his record to 3-2.
With the split Binghamton stands at 29-25 while the Fisher Cats are 33-21. The teams meet in another doubleheader on Sunday. The first pitch is scheduled for 1:05 P.M. with air at 12:50 on News Radio 1290 WNBF. Nabil Crismatt starts game one for Binghamton. Game two's starter was not announced.
