The Binghamton Rumble Ponies play their final game of the 2018 season today at NYSEG Stadium against the Portland Sea Dogs.  It is game number 140.  In the first game of the season the two clubs met in Binghamton and the weather could not be any more different.  On opening day on April 5th  the temperature was 35 !  Today the temperature at the stadium is 92 !

Both the Rumble Ponies and Sea Dogs will miss the playoffs,  Binghamton enters the final game with a record of 64-75 and in fifth place in the Eastern Division, 14 games out of first place.  Portland is 62-76, 15.5 games out of first place and in sixth place in the East.

In 22 games between the two teams this season the Rumble Ponies have won 12 and dropped 10.  Although the Rumble Ponies failed to make the playoffs they more than delivered in player development.  11 former Rumble Ponies made their Major League debut with the New York Mets in 2018.  Six of those players went directly from Binghamton to New York.
