Is the bigger story the fact that the Binghamton Rumble Ponies defeated the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 4-1 last (Monday) night at NYSEG Stadium or that they actually played ?  I'm leaning towards they actually played.  Conditions were harsh at best with gusty winds and temperatures at game time in the upper 30's.  Going into last night's game the Rumble Ponies had six of their last seven games either postponed or suspended due to weather-related conditions.  Even last night's game was delayed for a half hour to adequately prepare the field after more rain fell throughout the day.

When they got things going the Rumble Ponies fared well earning a 4-1 win.  The victory puts Binghamton's record at 4-2 while New Hampshire drops to 4-7.  Both teams compete in the Eastern Division of the Eastern League.

Game two in the series is set for 6:35 P.M.(6:20 air on News Radio 1290 WNBF) tonight.  Anthony Kay is the scheduled Rumble Ponies starting pitcher and is making his third start this season.  He has yet to record a win. New Hampshire counters with Hector Perez who is 0-1.
