Rumble Ponies Look to Topple Yard Goats
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies are still looking for a way to boot the Hartford Yard Goats out of NYSEG Stadium.
Hartford swept the Ponies in a doubleheader last night by scores of 6-5 and 2-1. That stretches the Yard Goats' winning streak to nine in a row over Binghamton. The Rumble Ponies only win over the Yard Goats this season came on May 7th in their first meeting of the season.
The doubleheader losses drop Binghamton's record to 49-59 and puts the Ponies in fifth place in the Eastern Division. They are now 13.5 games in back of first place New Hampshire. Hartford is 51-55 and in third place in the Eastern Division.
Scott Copeland puts his 5-4 record on the line tonight against Hartford's Jesus Tinoco who is 6-9. It's Copeland's first start against the Yard Goats. Tinoco earned a win over the Rumble Ponies in Hartford in June.
The teams meet again tomorrow night at NYSEG Stadium. Start times for both tonight and tomorrow night are 6:35 P.M. with air at 6:20 on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
