The Binghamton Rumble Ponies conclude their opening homestand of the season tonight at NYSEG Stadium when they host the Akron RubberDucks at 6:35 PM (6:20 air on News Radio 1290 WNBF).  Last night the RubberDucks topped the Rumble Ponies 5-1 with a four-run sixth powering Akron to the win.  The loss drops Binghamton's record to 3-2 while Akron moved to 3-3.  Amazingly the Rumble Ponies have had just one game postponed by poor weather.

One Rumble Pony who seemingly has not had an issue with hitting in the cold weather, is first baseman Peter Alonso.  He went 2-4 last night and has hit safely in all five games so far.  He is second in the Eastern League in batting average at .444 going 8-18 with two home runs and four runs batted in.

In tonight's contest Stony Brook University product Daniel Zamora gets the start for the Rumble Ponies while Aaron Civale counters for Akron.  Following a day off tomorrow the Rumble Ponies head out on a seven-game road trip. On Friday night Binghamton begins a three-game series in Portland, Maine against the Sea Dogs.  From there the Ponies visit New Hampshire for four consecutive games.
