The Binghamton Rumble Ponies are set to host the Richmond Flying Squirrels tonight (Tuesday) at 6:35 (air at 6:20 on News Radio 1290 WNBF) at NYSEG Stadium.  Binghamton checks in with a 31-20 record and stands two games out of first place in the Eastern Division.  A bigger problem than opposing teams is the weather.  Rainy and cold weather have plagued the Eastern League including the Rumble Ponies.  With Sunday's home game against Portland postponed the total of rainouts this season now stands at ten with six postponed at home.   That computes to roughly 20 percent of the games to date have been postponed due to inclement weather.

This week is Security Mutual Week in the city of Binghamton with the locally-based business holding its annual business meetings in town.  As part of the week's celebration former Binghamton Triplet and New York Yankee Al Downing will be on hand tonight to sign autographs and throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

The Rumble Ponies will send Donovan Hand to the mound (3-1) versus Richmond's Sam Coonrod (1-6).  This is the opening of a three-game series with 6:35 starts Wednesday and Thursday nights.
