Rumble Ponies Home This Weekend
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies are looking ahead to a big weekend. Concerns over a rainy weekend are not dampening the Ponies spirits or the way they have been playing. They finished their recent road trip with a 5-2 slate and following Thursday night's 1-0 loss to Akron they have a record of 18-12.
Binghamton is scheduled for a single game tonight(Friday) at 7:05, a 12:05 doubleheader on Saturday and a day game on Sunday (Mother's Day) which begins at 1:05.
Last night the RubberDucks edged Binghamton 1-0 with the only run scored by Akron's Mike Papi. Papi is from nearby Tunkhannock, Pa. where he starred on their baseball team and competed in the Wyoming Valley Conference.
P.J.Conlon continues to sparkle on the mound for Binghamton. Following his complete game one-hit victory in New Hampshire last week Conlon went eight innings against Akron. He gave up five hits, struck out six and took the loss giving up the RubberDucks lone run.
