Rumble Ponies Head to All-Star Break With a Win
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies closed out the first half of their Eastern League season with an 8-6 win over Erie at NYSEG Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The Eastern League takes a three day break from the regular schedule for the All-Star game in Trenton on Wednesday and resumes play on Thursday.
The Rumble Ponies used a big fourth inning to come from behind and beat the SeaWolves. Trailing 4-0 the Rumble Ponies plated five runs in the fourth inning to take the lead. Justin Dunn upped his record to 3-2 as he went five innings. He gave up four runs and six hits over his five inning stint.
The Rumble Ponies closed the first half of their season with a record of 43-44. They head to the All-Star break in third place in the Eastern Division of the Eastern League. Binghamton trails first place New Hampshire by six games and second place Trenton by one-half game.
The Rumble Ponies have an additional player headed to Trenton to take part in the All-Star game. Pitcher David Roseboom has been added to the Eastern Squad. He has posted a 2:05 ERA in 25 games in Binghamton.
