Rumble Ponies End New Hampshire Jaunt With Split
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies ended their five-game road trip to New Hampshire with a doubleheader split in Manchester on Sunday. That puts the Rumble Ponies record at 22-20 as they head to a day off today (Monday).
In Sunday's first game the Rumble Ponies dropped a 6-5 decision after closer Tyler Bashlor was unable to hold a two-run lead in the seventh inning and suffered his first loss of the season. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. slammed a walk-off home run to seal the Fisher Cats' victory.
In the nightcap the teams battled into extra innings with Binghamton winning 10-8 in nine innings. Jeff McNeil had a two-run home run and Matt Oberste blasted a two-run long fly to provide the winning margin.
The Rumble Ponies begin a seven-game homestand Tuesday night when they host the Richmond Flying Squirrels at 6:35 PM (air at 6:20 on News Radio 1290 WNBF). Then they host the Bowie Baysox for four straight games from Friday through Memorial Day.
