After getting swept in Akron over the weekend the Binghamton Rumble Ponies started their homestand off with a bang on Monday night as they crushed the Portland Sea Dogs 16-2 at NYSEG Stadium.  The Ponies blasted four home runs including a trio of two-run homers in the sixth inning. Tim Tebow extended his hitting streak to 12 straight with a single in the sixth inning as well.

One of the New York Mets top prospects, Justin Dunn, upped his Double-A record to 4-2 pitching six innings and striking out six. With the victory Binghamton gets closer to .500 with a record of 44-48.

The series continues with a doubleheader beginning this afternoon at 5:35 P.M.(air at 5:20 on News Radio 1290 WNBF)  Mickey Jannis is Binghamton's scheduled starting pitcher in the first game versus Portland's Dedgar Jiminez.

The series concludes with a 1:05 P.M. contest tomorrow (Wednesday).  Binghamton's homestand continues through the weekend with the Trenton Thunder visiting  for games Thursday through Sunday.
