It was a memorable day at NYSEG Stadium on Baseball in Education Day on Thursday.  An announced crowd of 6,311 cheered the Rumble Ponies on to a home victory.  Sunshine pushed temperatures into the 80's as the Rumble Ponies earned a 6-4 win over the Richmond Flying Squirrels.  Many of the fans on hand were local school students who turned out for a day at the ball park.

Binghamton banged out 14 hits on the way to the win.  Scott Copeland upped his record to 3-0 for the Rumble Ponies.  Jordan Johnson dropped to 5-4 as he started and took the loss for Richmond.

The win puts Binghamton's record at 23-22.  The homestand continues through Memorial Day.  Binghamton hosts the Bowie Baysox for four straight games beginning Friday night at 7:05 (air at 6:50 on News Radio 1290 WNBF).  Mickey Jannis is the scheduled starter for the Rumble Ponies while Brian Gonzalez gets the start for Bowie.  The series concludes on Memorial Day with a 2:05 P.M. contest.
