Romello Walker Tabbed as America East Rookie of the Week

Binghamton Bearcat freshman Romello Walker has been named the America East Rookie of the Week.

Walker averaged 17.5 points per game in two America East contests last week.  He scored 17 points in Hartford January 7 and fired in 18 tallies in the Bearcats' win over Maine January 10 at the Events Center.

Walker has  scored in double figures in three consecutive games.  He came close to a double-double on the 10th as he grabbed eight rebounds as well.  He has found the shooting touch going 8-12 from the floor  in the last game and knocking in several mid-range jump shots using his 6'6" frame to sky over opponents attempting to guard him.

Walker is the third Bearcat to earn Rookie of the Week honors so far this season.  Willie Rodriguez and Dusan Perovic also have earned Rookie of the Week accolades.
