The Roberson Museum and Science Center has a new exhibit featuring the people of the Longhouse.

Beginning today Roberson is happy to announce the re-opening of Haudenosaunee: People of the Longhouse, the exhibit was re-vamped thanks to collaborating experts, staff and others.

According to a news release from the Roberson Museum, the display showcases the history and culture of the People of the Longhouse, and will allow visitors to actually walk through a partial model of a longhouse while watching traditional demonstrations of dance, basket weaving and more.

In the release Roberson’s Executive Director Michael Grasso said It is Roberson’s honor and privilege to highlight the Haudenosaunee Nation; a culture that continues to thrive in our region.”

The Museum is excited to be able to offer this incredible display that features the history of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy and the impact and contributions they had on this land.

The exhibition will be permanently on view in Roberson’s second floor gallery starting today.
