Man Stabbed During Dispute on Binghamton’s North Side

A man was reportedly seriously injured in a stabbing during a dispute with another man in a Binghamton neighborhood.

The assault happened on Doubleday Street around 5:45 p.m. Thursday.

Residents told WNBF News that the stabbing occurred in front of a home at 10 Doubleday Street.

They said two men were arguing when one of them repeatedly stabbed the other in the chest and face. The severely-wounded man stumbled east before collapsing near the driveway of 16 Doubleday Street.

The injured man was transported to Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City in a Binghamton Fire Department ambulance. His condition was not known.

The suspect in the stabbing fled the scene on foot. He was located by police nearby on Eldredge Street west of Chenango Street.

A section of Doubleday Street near the stabbing scene was closed for a couple of hours for the police investigation.

Yellow police tape also was used to seal off an area in front of 29 Eldredge Street where the suspect apparently was taken into custody.

Police officers and detectives secured that scene as investigators photographed two carts and several items strewn nearby.
