The Reading Fightin Phils topped the Binghamton Rumble Ponies 8-6 before an announced crowd of 7,054 in Reading this (Wednesday) afternoon.  The win earned a series split for Reading.  In the four-game-series each team took a pair of wins.

Gavin Cecchini and Jason Krizan hit home runs for Binghamton.  The Rumble Ponies fell behind early and could never catch up.  They battled back from a 6-2 deficit and stranded what could have been the tying run at second base in the bottom of the ninth inning when Luis Carpio struck out to end the contest.

The Rumble Ponies ended their eight-game road trip with a record of 5-3.  They have faced a heavy stretch of road games with 13 of 15 games away from NYSEG Stadium.  Binghamton returns home to begin a four-game series against the Bowie Baysox, the Baltimore Orioles Eastern League affiliate.
