New York State Electric and Gas and Rochester Gas and Electric have thousands of workers deployed to Erie and Monroe Counties where residents are still without power from the Wednesday, March 8 wind storm.
The American Red Cross has opened shelters and the utilities are distributing dry ice and bottled water.
AVANGRID, the parent company of NYSEG and RG&E said ramped up restoration efforts were underway. Still, AVANGRID warned customers could be without power in some areas for several days.
