Power Out in Johnson City
An early morning power interruption in Johnson City to the Binghamton City line is impacting over 1,800 New York State Electric and Gas customers and a few traffic signals.
Authorities were informed the lights were out in the Village near the traffic circle shortly after 3:30 a.m. June 23 and determined the problem was centered in the area of Floral Avenue, Grand Avenue and in an area on the south side of the village progressing east from the traffic circle.
Police deployed temporary stop signs at intersections where traffic signals were out
New York State Electric and Gas posted on their website: nyseg,com at 3:53 a.m. that 1, 885 customers in Johnson City and Binghamton were without power.
Service was expected to be restored by 7 a.m.
There was no explanation for the interruption.
