The impending sale of the former Davis College campus in Johnson City is not expected to affect the operations of a neighborhood post office.

The Bible School Park post office is located in a small building on the property off Riverside Drive that is being acquired by Broome County businessman Adam Weitsman.

Some Johnson City and Binghamton residents who use the office have expressed concern about what will happen following the acquisition.

Weitsman said he had heard from people who had hoped the post office would continue to operate, so the lease for the facility has been renewed for five years.

The United States Postal Service reduced operating hours for the Bible School Park post office about five years ago after conducting a survey of those who use the facility.

Weitsman is acquiring the Davis College property for $3.7 million. He expects the deal will close early next month.
