Johnson City Chick-fil-A to Open October 15
It's official. Broome County's first Chick-fil-A restaurant is scheduled to open next week.
The Georgia-based company on Tuesday confirmed the Johnson City location plans to start operations on October 15 at 6:30 a.m.
The restaurant was constructed in the southeast corner of the Oakdale Commons on the site that had been occupied by a KeyBank branch. It will be open Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The restaurant will offer dine-in, drive-thru, carry-out, delivery and catering options.

Chick-fil-A chose Danielle Cannella to be the owner-operator of the restaurant. She participated in the company's leadership development program. The program provides "hands-on experiences at Chick-fil-A restaurants" to help train future owner-operators.
According to a company news release, about 150 people will work at the Johnson City restaurant.

Another Chick-fil-A restaurant restaurant is under construction at the Town Square Mall in Vestal. That location is expected to open in January.
There now are more than 3,000 Chick-fil-A restaurants in the United States, Canada, the UK and Singapore.
Chick-fil-A is a family-owned and privately-held company that was founded in 1946 by S. Truett Cathy.
