Pitching was the story as the Binghamton Rumble Ponies shutout the Akron RubberDucks in a day game today (Wednesday) 1-0  at NYSEG Stadium.  The only run in the game came on an RBI single from Patrick Biondi in the fifth inning.  Biondi drove in David Thompson who led off the inning with a double.

Corey Oswalt upped his record to 3-2 as he started and went 5.1 innings.  He gave up three hits and notched six strikeouts along the way.

The win over the RubberDucks is the fourth straight victory for Binghamton and ups the Rumble Ponies  record to 13-9.  Next up for Binghamton is an eight-game road trip that begins on Thursday night in New Hampshire at 6:05 (air at 5:50).  After five games against the Fisher Cats Binghamton travels to Portland for a trio of games against the Sea Dogs.  The Rumble Ponies return home on Thursday, May 11 when they host Akron at 6:35.
