Ponies Out Slug Erie
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies rejuvenated their offense in a 10-6 victory over the Erie SeaWolves in Erie on Monday night. Tommy Milone earned his first decision in four starts as a Binghamton Rumble Pony. He earned the win despite giving up five home runs to the SeaWolves.
The victory snapped a three-game losing streak for the Rumble Ponies. In those three games the Binghamton offense managed to score just one run. This time Binghamton banged out a season high 18 hits.
Making an outstanding Double-A debut was catcher Patrick Mazeika. He went 3-3 and reached based on all five plate appearances. Outfielder Patrick Biondi also had a three-hit night.
The win ups the Rumble Ponies' record to 69-49. Their magic number to clinch a playoff spot is 14. They play the middle game of the three-game series Tuesday night at 7:05 (air at 6:50 on News Radio 1290 WNBF). Casey Delgado is the scheduled starter for Binghamton.
