Ponies Look to Throw Altoona a Curve
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies look to take the rubber game in their three-game series in Altoona tonight against the Curve. Altoona won the first game while Binghamton countered with a 4-3 decision last night. Chris Flexen was strong on the hill on Wednesday night pitching seven innings and adding a pair of hits in the win.
The Rumble Ponies are in third place in the East Division, nine games behind the Trenton Thunder and head into tonight's game with a record of 45-35. Altoona is 42-40 and a game out of first place in the West.
Mickey Jannis who is 5-3 makes his 14th start of the season and second of the year against Altoona. He had a no-decision against the Curve in May. On the hill for the Curve is Alex McRae who is 6-4.
Following tonight's 7 PM game(air at 6:45 on News Radio 1290 WNBF) the Rumble Ponies return home for the weekend to host the Hartford Yard Goats. Following Sunday's game the Eastern League takes a break in the schedule from Monday through Wednesday.
