An announced crowd of 6,968 fans...mainly elementary age students and teachers from 45 area schools jammed NYSEG Stadium for Baseball in Education Day today (Wednesday) .  The Rumble Ponies jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first inning but could not  maintain control and fell to the Altoona Curve 9-8.  The loss put Binghamton's record at 21-13 while Altoona moves to 19-19.  The Rumble Ponies took two out of three games in the series.

Binghamton's Patrick Mazeika drove in six runs in the game including three with a home run with two aboard in the first inning.  Mazeika has now hit safely in 14 consecutive games. The Curve powered back with three home runs in the game.

Binghamton hits the road for seven games.  The Rumble Ponies play the first four games in Trenton beginning with a 7:00 P.M. contest on Thursday night. Following the Trenton series Binghamton heads to Bowie for three games.
